Pro Forehand

If you watch the best players play, you will see them hit with tons of power, can put the ball on a dime, and never seem to miss.

Here’s what you can learn from them...

The best players are all fully extended on their ground strokes. This lets them use their big muscles and get ultimate leverage on the ball. And prevents injuries as compared to a bent arm.

What you must do to accomplish full extension:

It starts with your ready position- long and loose extended downward. That will help you to get fully extended on every ball at contact.

Second, an early takeback is key. it allows you to set up and take a proactive swing.

Third, getting far away from the ball is important. At contact you need to be fully balanced with good posture and a long, loose arm. Work on getting lined up the right distance to the ball. If you hope to achieve any level of repeatability you must be an unvarying distance away from the ball. This requires judgement of the ball off your opponent’s contact and footwork to set up accurately.

The only way to achieve consistency is to get good at hitting targets. You will start to improve as you become more accurate. It is not about hitting the same ball over and over again. It is about hitting to different targets with different swings but with great accuracy.
